A recent trip to test out the new AVE Pro from Vans was filled with plenty of New York grit from the iconic Valley Forge monument to metal mecca, St. Vitus, for a show from post-hardcore heavyweights, Quicksand. The shoe was the true highlight of the trip, showing what the durability and flexibility of a Vans shoe can be. The new AVE skates like it's broken in right out of the box, and it also boasts durability beyond your typical vulcanized Vans Pro Classics. The stitchless toe paneling has functional breaks in the right places, and the newly formulated rubber used in the sole is just as grippy as your normal waffle sole, with nearly twice the life. Needless to say, this shoe gets a stamp of approval from us.
