Working on an ArtPrize project is always an honor, especially if it's teaming up with the likes of SiTE:LAB. The Skate:Lab was a collaborative entry in the abandoned basement level of the Morton House, a historic hotel from Grand Rapids past. Utilizing the dilapidated features as a base above which to build skatable forms, the piece became something of a pop up park, open for a few small events, after which projections from those jams were used to bring the space alive. The park was built and torn down within the course of just over 1 month, bringing the likes of the Krew team and Nike SB homies Al Partanen and Chet Childress. Along with the skatable project, we created a limited run of boards that featured the Hotel's once used crest featured in the images here.
